One reason I have to dislike McCain is his, uhm, membership of the repugnant Keating Five; while he and the others successfully spun the event (claims of “just wanting to attend the hearing” from McCain), one has to conclude that the appearance of impropriety is unquestionably present, and I believe that where there is smoke... Then McCain comes out with a book about COURAGE (I kid you not -http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1400060303/immaculate-books/002-8950079-8175263 ), and I wonder where HIS courage was when millions, including my mom, lost their life savings to Keating, a tiny portion of that money going to McCain’s campaign coffers. Battle valor apparently does not transform into political bravery against the actions of your affluent contributors.Now he’s pandering because he has hopes for 2008… Without the support of the Party Powerful he’s a non-starter, so he has to tow the party line.No, I have little reverence for post-war McCain; mouthing opinions that I might concur with is unlikely to change my mind...
